The themes in the Spring Term for Class 4 are 'Pollution Revolution' and worked based around 'The Hobbit'.
Pollution - As humans, it is becoming more and more evident that we have a MASSIVE impact on the world around us. This term we shall be looking at problems facing our planet and researching possible solutions. We shall also be delving into strategies already used by some countries to minimise our negative impact, and analysing their effectiveness. This 'umbrella' topic will run into most subjects taught within the UKS2 curriculum. For example, in English we shall be writing a balanced argument piece, a playscript and a narrative or two. In DT, investigations will take place into 'greener' alternatives for some plastics, and in science we shall be investigating the different types of pollution and conducting some experiments.
The Hobbit will also run into our English work (including guided reading) and feature in some art projects.
