Useful Information

Please keep your PE kit in school unless it is being cleaned. We have PE on a Tuesday and a Thursday.

A change of outdoor footwear (ideally football boots or wellies) to be worn if children wish to play on the field in the winter months.

Y5 and Y6 have gardening on alternate Thursdays so children will need wellies at school.

During our learning on ratio and proportion , we have been making smoothies. The children were given ingredients and recipes to make a single smoothie. They then had to calculate and measure how much they would need for 4 pupils, the whole class, the entire KS2 and even the whole school.

Class 4 loved observing over time and exploring the mummification process with tomatoes.

In maths to aid our learning we  use concrete, pictorial and abstract. These place value counters help us understand the 4 operations.

We had a great time at Scampston Hall. The children loved orienteering, classifying, den building as well as creating a fire and making s’mores!

We made Egyptian board games.

Investigating calcium.

Mummifying tomatoes.

In RE, we were learning about ‘Foundations for Living: The Wise and Foolish Builders, Matthew 7:24-27.’ The children were challenged to make a bible stand using 12 kebab sticks and tape. They were also allowed to collect resources from outside to build a base/foundations.

As part of our CSI topic, we investigated foot prints and identified different members our our class.

For our Home-Learning project, the children have been designing and making their own Anglo-Saxon Villages in different ways.

For Harvest festival we learnt about the charity Water Aid. We researched the key values (equality, sustainability, hygiene and integration) and wrote information leaflets. We also created our own Water Aid art..

During the autumn term, we designed and made our own electrical circuit games. .

In RE we have been learning about the life of Moses. We discussed what his actions and choices meant and what they make us think of now.  We also made an axis of emotions for part of Moses's story.
